JVCKENWOOD Corporation (JVCKENWOOD) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), a global leader in semiconductor solutions. This strategic partnership aims to advance the development of radio transceiver System-on-Chips (SoCs), integral to JVCKENWOOD’s wireless devices, bolstering the company’s Communications Systems business.

In response to the escalating demand for its communication systems, JVCKENWOOD is witnessing heightened deployment within organizational risk management frameworks amidst the global emphasis on disaster prevention and Business Continuity Plans (BCP). Notably, there is a surge in efforts, particularly in public safety sectors such as police and fire departments, to fortify critical communication systems. To address this burgeoning market demand, JVCKENWOOD has entered into an MOU with ADI to collaboratively develop next-generation wireless devices. This initiative aims to elevate the performance standards of JVCKENWOOD’s wireless products while ensuring a stable supply chain.

Overview of the MOU and Its Advantages

In the forthcoming generation of wireless devices, JVCKENWOOD intends to harness ADI’s cutting-edge narrowband transceiver solution, Nevis, to develop core components for wireless devices. Renowned for its industry-leading attributes including low power consumption and high dynamic range, Nevis incorporates ADI’s ADRV910x portfolio of products. By leveraging this technology, JVCKENWOOD aims to enhance the functionality and performance of its wireless devices, particularly within the demanding landscape of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) applications.

Under the harsh operational conditions of public safety environments, the demand for enhanced functionality and performance in communication systems remains paramount. Recognizing this need, JVCKENWOOD and ADI are committed to developing SoCs with lower power consumption to meet the evolving requirements of these sectors. Through collaborative efforts, the two companies will exchange insights, specifications, and performance metrics to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential wireless devices.

Bryan Goldstein, Vice President, High Speed Converter Product Line, ADI, remarked, “Our successive generations of software-defined radio ICs are designed to expedite our customers' time-to-market by offering expanded capabilities, performance, and integration while optimizing power efficiency. We are delighted to continue our longstanding collaboration with JVCKENWOOD, addressing the imperative for enhanced radio performance and minimized supply chain risks.”

Akira Suzuki, COO Safety & Security Sector, JVCKENWOOD, stated, “The fusion of JVCKENWOOD’s expertise in the professional wireless market with ADI’s advanced IC technologies will yield even more robust system solutions for our customers. We are committed to fostering a stronger partnership with ADI, delivering professional communication systems tailored to the evolving needs of public safety and private markets. This endeavor underscores our dedication to enhancing safety and security across various domains, from daily life to emergency response scenarios.”
