Airbus Expands Cybersecurity Portfolio with Acquisition of INFODAS

Airbus Defence and Space has announced its intention to acquire INFODAS, a German cybersecurity and IT solutions provider based in Cologne, specializing in serving the public sector, including defense and critical infrastructures. The acquisition, pending regulatory approvals, is slated for completion by the end of 2024.


This strategic move aligns with Airbus' objective to fortify its cybersecurity offerings, particularly in response to escalating cyber threats and the growing digitalization and connectivity of its products and systems. With a steadfast commitment to enhancing cybersecurity capabilities, Airbus aims to ensure optimal protection for its products, operations, customers, and ecosystem, encompassing major initiatives like the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).


INFODAS boasts approximately 250 employees and an annual revenue of approximately 50 million euros. In addition to its headquarters in Cologne, INFODAS maintains offices across Germany, including in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz. The company holds certifications from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, covering areas such as information system auditing, consulting, and penetration tests. Notably, INFODAS' SDoT Security Gateway product family is endorsed for classification levels up to secret, with certifications in accordance with Common Criteria and other country-specific standards.
