Airbus Public Safety and Security and Telia Finland have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen the security, performance, and resilience of next-generation critical communications across Finland.
The collaboration combines Telia’s advanced 5G network capabilities with Airbus’s mission‑critical communication solution, creating a new, integrated and unified solution for critical connectivity.
As critical infrastructure and defence become increasingly connected, demands for secure, high‑performance, and trusted communications are growing rapidly. The partnership responds to these needs by bringing together two European technology leaders with complementary strengths in network infrastructure and secure communications.
“Our partnership is a strategic response to the growing security and performance requirements of Finland’s critical infrastructure and defence. We are setting a new standard for operational resilience in mission-critical communications,” says Juha Laakso, Head of Airbus Defence and Space Finland.
“Step by step, we are increasing partnerships connected to the dual-use opportunities of our 5G network. Mission-critical communications are increasingly relying on commercial technology, and we are excited to partner with Airbus and their solution to advance critical communication solutions in the Finnish market”, adds Holger Haljand, CEO,Telia Finland.
Under the partnership, Telia provides the digital platform through its high‑availability 5G infrastructure, including private networks and network slicing, for demanding and regulated environments.
Airbus complements this with its proven mission‑critical communication solution, Agnet, enabling secure, reliable, and low‑latency communications for public safety, defence and industry organisations including critical infrastructure operators.
Together, Airbus and Telia provide a single, integrated solution that reduces operational complexity and removes the need to manage multiple suppliers.
The partnership supports national security of supply and digital sovereignty by relying on trusted European providers and locally governed infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Airbus and Telia expect the partnership to drive significant growth over the years to come. Initial ecosystem solutions are expected to launch in summer 2026.
