Cybertel and its subsidiary TWnC have been awarded the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for Korea’s nationwide public safety communication network, SafeNet, reinforcing their role in supporting mission-critical communications infrastructure across the country.
SafeNet is Korea’s nationwide public safety LTE (PS-LTE) network designed to enable seamless interoperability and coordinated communications among public safety agencies during disasters, emergencies, and large-scale incidents. Since its official nationwide launch in May 2021, SafeNet has become a core mission-critical communications platform supporting more than 230,000 field devices and hundreds of public safety organizations across Korea.
The SafeNet infrastructure incorporates advanced mission-critical communication technologies, including Mission Critical Services (MCX) and evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS), enabling stable and efficient group communications even during high-density emergency response operations.
The network has already demonstrated the capability to support mission-critical group communications for approximately 15,000 public safety personnel operating simultaneously within the same area, highlighting the scalability and resilience of Korea’s national emergency communications infrastructure.
Under the newly awarded contract, Cybertel and TWnC will provide nationwide operation and maintenance support for SafeNet through March 2029.
As part of the project scope, Cybertel will oversee Help Desk operations and provide Speech-to-Text (STT) solutions to enhance frontline user support, operational efficiency, and voice-based record management for public safety agencies.
Meanwhile, TWnC will manage core network operations, network performance monitoring, cybersecurity monitoring, inter-agency integration support, and overall operational management to ensure nationwide service continuity, network reliability, and infrastructure security.
