Sydney, Australia — October 2025, The curtain has closed on #GPSOCSyd2025, marking the end of three inspiring days dedicated to shaping the future of public safety communications.

Over 100 delegates from 17 countries came together to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on advancing mission-critical broadband for emergency services worldwide. The discussions spanned the full spectrum of the Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) lifecycle—from business planning and procurement to regulation, spectrum access, and governance.

A key highlight was learning from international experiences of countries that have already delivered operational mission-critical broadband capabilities. Contributions from frontline emergency services added powerful, real-world perspectives on how reliable communications can mean the difference between life and death during crises such as fires, floods, and other critical incidents.

However, one resounding message emerged: Australia still lacks fit-for-purpose, mission-critical broadband for its emergency services. The risks are clear—when communication networks fail, lives are at stake. The insights shared during GPSOC Sydney underscore the urgent need for decisive action to ensure every responder has the connectivity and tools required to protect communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all who joined and contributed to this vital dialogue. The knowledge and collaboration fostered at GPSOC Sydney 2025 will continue to guide both Australia and the international community in building resilient, interoperable communication systems that strengthen public safety.

As the conversation continues, we look ahead to #CommsConnect2025, where telecommunications leaders will reflect on the next steps toward achieving a truly connected and secure future for all.

Together, we’re driving global progress in mission-critical communications—for safer, stronger communities.
