Jataí, Goiás, Brazil — Inrico, a global provider of professional Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) devices and mission-critical communications solutions, continues to support digital transformation for public safety, transportation, and enterprise users worldwide through intelligent communication technologies and integrated command-and-control platforms.
Strengthening its commitment to smarter public sector communications, Inrico, together with local partners Via Rádio and 3R Network, has successfully deployed an integrated critical communications solution for the Jataí Municipal Traffic Authority (SMT) in Brazil. The deployment combines smart PoC radios, vehicle-mounted mobile radios, and the iConvNet dispatch platform to improve operational coordination, situational awareness, and communication efficiency across daily traffic management operations.
Building a Connected Communications Ecosystem for Traffic Operations
The newly implemented system provides SMT with a unified communications environment designed to connect frontline officers, patrol vehicles, and the command center through real-time voice, data, and location-based services.
At the field level, the Inrico S300Plus PoC radio enables traffic officers to maintain instant Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication with the command center while supporting advanced operational capabilities, including real-time GPS location tracking, incident video and audio recording, and digital evidence collection.
Powered by an Android operating system, the device also allows officers to access traffic management applications directly in the field, helping streamline workflows and improve response efficiency during daily enforcement activities.
For mobile patrol operations, the Inrico TM-7Plus mobile radio installed in traffic vehicles provides dependable PTT communication and emergency alert functionality. The solution enables patrol teams to remain continuously connected with command personnel while conducting inspections, enforcement missions, and incident response activities.
At the command center, the iConvNet dispatch platform delivers centralized management of personnel, vehicles, communication groups, and operational events. By integrating voice communication, location information, and operational data into a single platform, SMT gains improved situational awareness and enhanced coordination between field teams and management teams.
Through the deployment, SMT has strengthened its communication infrastructure, improved operational visibility, and created a more efficient workflow for municipal traffic management.
Local Authorities Recognize the Value of Digital Transformation
Following the implementation of the solution, representatives from the Municipality of Jataí and SMT highlighted the benefits of adopting advanced communications technology for public service operations.
Genilson Assis, Mayor of Jataí, stated: “We are improving the communication capabilities of the Municipal Traffic Authority to bring greater transparency and safety to all citizens in the city. This new technology is innovative, not only for the municipality of Jataí but also for the state of Goiás”
Coronel Marcelo Fiório, Superintendent of SMT, stated: “In addition to functioning as a radio, the device can record videos and audio during incidents. It can also be used to issue traffic citations through systems such as Radar and Detran. It provides GPS-based monitoring and makes communication much more effective. And ultimately, the citizens of Jataí will certainly be the ones who benefit most from this technology.”
Daniel Luizmar Ferreira da Silva, Traffic Enforcement Officer, shared: “Everything can be managed through a single platform. For example, applications such as electronic ticketing bring greater convenience and efficiency to field teams. We can access electronic ticketing, issue traffic citations, perform vehicle inquiries, and handle our daily tasks directly in the field. Even better, we can stay connected with the command center while carrying out enforcement activities.”
Advancing Connected and Intelligent Traffic Operations
The Jataí Municipal Traffic Authority project demonstrates how mission-critical communications technologies can support smarter, safer, and more efficient urban traffic management.
By combining reliable communication, real-time information sharing, digital workflows, and centralized command capabilities, Inrico’s integrated solution provides municipal traffic teams with the tools required to improve operational coordination and deliver enhanced public services.
As cities continue their digital transformation journey, connected critical communications solutions will play an increasingly important role in enabling more responsive, transparent, and intelligent public safety and municipal operations.
