Reliable broadband connectivity is essential for emergency services and public protection and disaster relief (PPDR) organisations to coordinate responses, share real-time information, and maintain situational awareness during critical incidents.
Frequentis, a global safety-critical solutions expert, and Lyfo, a Dutch network technology specialist, are entering into a strategic partnership to advance network connectivity over 4G/5G for safety-critical applications and enable high-capacity mobile communication for emergency services and public protection and disaster relief organisations.
Frequentis’ MissionX is a fully integrated Mission Critical Services (MCX) solution that ensures secure, interoperable voice, data, and video communications over multi-operator 4G/5G networks, aligned with global 3GPP standards. Lyfo’s product, Lyfo.net, specialises in patented network-selection technology, enabling devices to automatically connect to the strongest mobile network with enhanced monitoring and prioritisation for mission-critical use cases.
Combining these two capabilities to work together on this common goal will foster progress and the pair’s contribution to MCX exponentially. The result will be faster decisions, safer operations, and more effective protection of the public.
“We are extremely proud of our long-standing partnership with Lyfo and are delighted to now develop it further. The combination of our 3GPP-standardised MissionX communication solution with the innovative, patented Lyfo portfolio creates unique added value for all safety-critical organisations, in line with the Frequentis mission: ‘For A Safer World’,” says Manuel Hintermayr, Director of Mission Critical Services at Frequentis.
“We are honoured that Frequentis, a key player in the mission-critical communications space, has chosen to work with us on a vital element of the MCX service. This deepening of our collaboration opens doors for Lyfo which normally would have been closed and allows us to expand our further contribution in the MCX domain. After the introduction in the Dutch Market in 2021 and the recent launch in the German market, we are seeing a strong increase in demand for our unique technology that significantly improves the accessibility and availability of mobile 4G /5G connectivity,” says Maurits Zandbergen, CEO & Business Development at Lyfo.
With the introduction of LTE/4G and the extension of the 3GPP standard to include Mission Critical Services, it is now possible for the first time to develop vendor-independent, cross-border solutions for voice, data and video and integrate them into public and dedicated 4G/5G networks. Frequentis MissionX won the prestigious ICCA (International Critical Communication Awards) prize in June 2025 in the category "Best MCX product or solution of the year" from TCCA.
