At Telco, we work to keep people and places safe and connected across NSW. Supporting frontline responders is our top priority, especially during emergencies and natural disasters.


Leading this crucial function is Rania Wannous, Executive Director, Customer and Emergency Management.


A leader in telecommunications

Rania has been a driving force at Telco since 2018, advocating for customer-focused service delivery and innovation in emergency management. She has played a pivotal role in leading Telco’s network operations, customer engagement and initiatives to address the digital divide in NSW, including development of the state’s first Digital Inclusion Strategy.


With extensive experience across the public and private sectors, including roles at Visit London, the National Rugby League and ERM, Rania brings expertise in customer experience, communications, stakeholder engagement and policy development.


Strategic vision for customers and communities

Under Rania’s leadership, Telco will focus on:

  • Emergency Management – continuing to enhance 24-hour protection and coordination of telecommunications during emergencies.

  • Enhancing customer and stakeholder experience – applying data-driven insights and service design to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities.

  • Championing inclusion and access – fostering collaboration across government, industry and the community to deliver the NSW Digital Inclusion Strategy, helping close the digital divide.
