In addition, RFI Technology Solutions won the Local Manufacturing Award at the 2025 ARCIA Gala Dinner and Excellence Awards as part of Comms Connect 2025 in Melbourne.
The Industry Innovation Award recognizes the TP9900 radio as a world-class innovation improving interoperability, safety, and efficiency in the mission-critical communications market. The award celebrates the Tait team who created the rugged, lightweight, future-ready portable that meets the needs of our customers.
The TP9900 is the most compact multiprotocol, multiband portable radio on the market, uniquely enabling operation across P25, DMR, and analog networks in a single device. Unlike conventional radios locked to one or two bands, the TP9900 can be configured to operate on any combination of VHF, UHF, 700/800 MHz, and 900 MHz bands, either at purchase or later via over-the-air updates.
It supports P25 conventional, P25 trunking Phase 1 and Phase 2, DMR Tier 2, and DMR Tier 3 modes, offering unprecedented flexibility for organisations navigating technology migrations. The TP9900 also shares batteries, chargers, and accessories with all current TP9000 series portables, simplifying logistics and reducing lifecycle costs.
The TP9900’s ability to operate across multiple frequency bands and protocols allows it to support multi-agency response and multi-vendor compatibility, meeting both the TIA-102 P25 Compliance Assessment Program (CAP) and DMR European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) interoperability standards. This positions the portable radio for deployment across a broad range of public sector and critical communications organisations.

The Local Manufacturing Award honors RFI’s flagship mission-critical low-PIM Corporate Collinear, Meander Collinear, and Dipole Array base station antennas that are all manufactured in Australia and are relied upon by public safety networks both domestically and globally. These flagship products have become the go-to choice for radio networks across the globe, with 85% of RFI’s local production exported to international markets. This underscores RFI’s ability to meet global demand while maintaining strong ties to local manufacturing.
