Citymesh is thrilled to announce a major milestone in public safety innovation with the nationwide deployment of 70 cutting-edge Citymesh Safety Drones. This marks the world’s first automated drone network dedicated to emergency services, bringing a new level of efficiency and speed to crisis response operations across Belgium.
Since the launch of this groundbreaking initiative, Citymesh has achieved significant flight milestones with our Nokia-powered drones. The fleet has now surpassed 1,000 flight hours and, in 2025, the drones completed nearly 3,000 Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights, demonstrating their capacity to cover vast areas and provide critical support in emergency situations.
Thanks to the strategic SORA Sparsely Populated approvals and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Drone Vision Requirements (DVR)-certified operations, the Citymesh Safety Drones are capable of delivering live HD and thermal imaging within 90 seconds of deployment. This rapid response time allows emergency teams to make faster, more informed decisions, improving overall public safety outcomes.
Citymesh’s safety drone initiative represents a game-changing advancement in how emergency services respond to crises, with drones offering an unparalleled aerial perspective and data-driven insights that help protect lives and property.
