ExCel London – 17 June 2026, RugGear, a leading provider of rugged mission-critical communication devices, has announced a strategic partnership with Airbus Public Safety and Security at Critical Communications World (CCW) 2026, aimed at expanding the availability of 3GPP MCX-enabled devices across global public safety and critical infrastructure markets.

The collaboration is set to strengthen the ecosystem for broadband mission-critical communications by combining Airbus’ well established global distribution network and public safety expertise with RugGear's portfolio of rugged MCX devices.

As public safety organizations accelerate the migration toward 3GPP-based Mission Critical Services (MCX) and hybrid broadband networks, the partnership provides a framework for broader access to interoperable, standards-based rugged devices designed for frontline operations.

Expanding Access to Mission-Critical Device Ecosystems

Through this collaboration, Airbus Public Safety and Security will integrate RugGear's MCX devices into its Agnet platform and incorporate RugGear's MCX devices into its broader partner and distributor ecosystem. This will enable government agencies, emergency services, and critical infrastructure operators to access cutting-edge rugged devices designed to meet modern mission-critical communication requirements.

The partnership is intended to support operational continuity across hybrid network environments, where TETRA, LTE, and 5G MCX systems coexist during digital transformation programs.

Supporting Industry Transition Toward Broadband MCX

The agreement reflects a shared focus on accelerating the adoption of broadband mission-critical communications and supporting interoperability across vendors, platforms, and networks.

By making RugGear devices available through Airbus channels, the collaboration aims to simplify procurement and deployment processes for public safety customers transitioning toward MCX-based communication architectures.
